Tonya Sebastian-Terrell-Registered Veterinary Technician

Tonya graduated from Morehead State University Veterinary Technology Program.  She's been at Animal Care Clinic Since 1998.  Tonya grew up on a well known thoroughbred race horse farm in Bourbon County.  She now resides in Nicholas County with her husband, Wendell and daughters Shelby and Lily.  They reside with 5 dogs  (Sadie, Rebel, Chevy, Duramax, and Abby), two cats (Bailey and Country),  and a rabbit named Houdini.  In her spare time she enjoys horseback riding with her 4 year old Quarter Horse, Scarlet, raising Boer Goats for breeding and show, gardening, and spending all her extra time with family.

 

Mike Martin-Registered Veterinary Technician

Michael grew up in Connecticut, moved to Kentucky in 1990 where he attended Murray State University and earned a B.S. in Agriculture. He has since worked as a Registered Veterinary Technician in Florida, New Mexico and California before returning to Kentucky in 2007 to work at the Animal Care Clinic. When not working, Michael and his girlfriend spend their time chasing down their 2 year old daughter Zoey. Michael does not have any animals of his own unless you count Angelfish or feral cats living in his backyard. He loves his Boston Red Sox and sports of any kind and is happy to have returned to Kentucky.

Carrie, a native of Wisconsin, joined the Animal Care Clinic in August of 2008 after moving to the Lexington area (his hometown) with her husband Ryan.  She has been in the small animal veterinary field for over 7 years and received her certification in Wisconsin in March of 2008.  Carrie plans on pursuing a technician specialty in Internal Medicine as a future career goal.  She has attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the University of Iowa in her quest of knowledge of human and animal medicine.  A former EMT and large animal vet tech, she enjoys learning about all things medical for all different species.  Carrie and her husband Ryan have 2 dogs (Vega and Moses) and 4 cats (Badger, Delilah, Luna and Pedro).  When not working, she enjoys reading, gardening, interior decorating, learning about history and most importantly, cheering on her beloved Green Bay Packers!

 

Tabitha Back-Registered Veterinary Technician

 Tabitha is a graduate of the Moorehead State University Veterinary Technician Program.  She recently moved to the Lexington area with her husband Chad to join our team at Animal Care Clinic.  They have one dog, a Brittany named Hannah Belle.  In her spare time, Tabitha enjoys spending time with Chad and Hannah Belle, reading and spending time outdoors.

 

Debbie Cox-Veterinary Assistant

Debbie joined the Animal Care Clinic in July 2007.  Her love for animals is what inspired her career change after working in childcare for 13 years.   Debbie resides in Lexington with her family and has 2 dogs, a cockatiel, a bearded dragon, and poison dart frogs.  In her free time she enjoys volunteering at school and watching her children in their many activities.  Her hobbies include spending time with her family, cooking and gardening.

 

Marcella Crase-Veterinary Assistant

Marcella comes to the Animal Care Clinic from the Drag Racing Capitol of Kentucky, Clay City.  She has been with Animal Care Clinic since April of 2008.  Before she came to the clinic, she obtained her CDL licence and hit the road driving the big rigs all over the tri-state!  Marcella always had a passion for dogs and cats and wanted to be an advocate for them.  Marcella had an epiphany to work in small animal medicine, and settled here 4 years ago. She has a son, Jasper.  In her spare time, she loves to go to the beautiful lakes here, fish and spend time with her family and her pets.  She has two pitbull terriers, Lexy and Lilo and a cat named princess.

 

Kristy Perkins-Veterinary Assistant

Kristy came to the Animal Care Clinic in September of 2008.  She is a sociology student at Eastern Kentucky University and volunteers for different organizations in her spare time. Raised in Paris, Kentucky, she has always been surrounded by cats, dogs and fish.  This has helped to foster a deep love and respect for all animals. Kristy lives with her soulmate, Kelly.  They are the proud Moms of 6 cats (Ace, Ambrose, Butch, Dusty, Rocky and Sebastian), two dogs (Dakoda and Lynkin). She also takes care of her family’s pets; Lady Bug and Amadeus (dogs) plus Precious and Boots (cats). A classically trained singer and flutist, Kristy loves to make music in her free time.  She also enjoys reading, hiking, gardening and cooking.

 

Amanda Whitehead-Lead Receptionist

Amanda has worked at the Animal Care Clinic since April 1998. She worked as a Veterinary Assistant for three and a half years and then transferred positions in 2001 to become the Head Receptionist. In 2003 she completed a course through the Professional Career Development Institute to become a Certified Veterinary Assistant. Amanda owns a Blue Merle Sheltie (Ozzy) and a Box Turtle (Shelli). The Box Turtle was a resident of Animal Care Clinic for several years but is now living the life of luxury at Amanda’s home.

 

Gladys Barnett-Office Manager

Gladys has been with the Animal Care Clinic since 1994. She is a graduate of the University of Kentucky with a BS in Accounting.  After college, she met and married her husband Marcus and they now have two sons. Their family pet is a Ragdoll cat named Furby, who joined the family in February 2001.  Her favorite pastimes are spending time with her family and reading.
